About

Brandy Gryshik, MSW, RSW

Brandy has 10 years experience working with children, youth, adults and families. For the past 8 years, she has been working as a Clinical Social Worker (Therapist) to help individuals build fulfilling lives by drawing on their strengths. When appropriate, a family focused approach is used. Her areas of speciality include psycho-education, anxiety, depression, interpersonal concerns, family conflict, coping with daily stressors, self-harm, suicidal ideation, emotional concerns and trauma. She has experience with LGTBQ and indigenous populations with a focus on creating a safe and healing environment.

She has training in Emotion Focused Family & Individual Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Her primary focus is on using emotion focused therapy to sit with you in difficult emotions while teaching emotion/mind/body connection to allow you to connect to your own wisdom and learn to trust your own expertise; this supports sustainable life long change. If you feel you have been to therapy and it has not been helpful, emotion focused therapy might be the answer for you.

Appointments could be as simple as 1-2 sessions to build some understanding of what is going on and get resources to work on as an individual or family unit. It is never too early or too late to have a third person join you or your family on the journey. Feel free to reach out for a free 15 minute consultation.

Personal Information

Brandy Gryshik, MSW, RSW

I moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2020. Prior to that I was living in Sydney, Nova Scotia for three years. One of my favorite things about living in Nova Scotia is the ocean and beaches. I grew up in Alberta, Canada and moved to Nova Scotia in 2017. I have loved living here ever since. When I am not at my office working with clients in therapy, I enjoy hiking, spending time with my family, and baking sweet treats. In 2019 I completed my YYT 200 and enjoy incorporating yoga into my life on a weekly basis.
